Dashen Cement Private Limited Company was established in 2006 and began production in 2008. The plant is situated in Dejen town, East Gojam, Amhara Regional State and is located 230 km from Addis Ababa.

The company is one of the leading cement suppliers in the Amhara region and has an annual production capacity of 200,000 metric tons of cement. The production process involves using VSK (Vertical Shaft Kiln) technology.

 In August 2008, the Derba MIDROC Company opened this small cement factory on the outskirts of the town, producing 4,000 quintals of cement per day. Some of the output of this factory was used in the construction of the large Derba MIDROC Cement Factory, which will be located 70 kilometers North of Addis Ababa and is expected to be one of the largest cement factories in Ethiopia. In November 2022, the company was transferred under the leadership of MIDROC Investment Group, Mining Cluster.

Dashen Cement Factory is a renowned factory in Ethiopia, owned and established by the esteemed Sheikh Mohammed Hussein Ali Al-Amoudi. The factory operates under the umbrella of MIDROC Investment Group, which is a well-known investment firm in Ethiopia.

The factory had an impressive initial capital of 200,000,000 ETB, which is a testament to its financial strength. The Business Registration License Number for the factory is MT/AA/2/0015107/2004, which is evidence of its legal compliance and adherence to local business laws and regulations.
