The agricultural sector’s performance for the 2017/18 fiscal year and the 2018/19 plan have been reviewed.
It was noted that the performance was better compared to the same period of the previous year.
The total sales achieved during the year were 91 percent of the budgeted amount for the fiscal year, showing a 29 percent increase compared to the previous fiscal year.
The report indicated that it achieved 105 percent of the plan in terms of profit, an increase of 41 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.
It was learned that coffee, corn, milk, fruits, and canned food products showed high results during the year.
Speaking at the program, Jamal Ahmed, CEO of MIDROC Investment Group, said that we should work hard to achieve better results without being distracted by the results that have been recorded.
Jamal said that MIDROC has been able to reach the current level of development by constantly changing itself, and that all the management and employees of the institution must work with responsibility, accountability, transparency and a sense of ownership to further increase the productivity of agricultural products, especially coffee, tea and other agricultural products.
He stressed that it is necessary to identify problems in advance and work to correct gaps to achieve better results.
The CEO also said that the agricultural sector, which is crucial for food security, job creation and foreign exchange earnings, should be strengthened properly by implementing various projects under the sector.
Jamal urged the company to focus on increasing productivity, reducing production costs, and improving quality in each sector to ensure profitability and pass it on to future generations.
